Meet Emma

I have a hybrid role which means 60% of the time I’m working in our Group Sustainability team, helping to achieve our sustainability targets. Working with our regional teams to help drive change and ensure we are all working for a sustainable business. This side of my role also involves a lot of data crunching, comms/marketing work and presentations. The other side of my role is within New Business for our Countryside Partnerships business. Working on securing new work and places on new frameworks. This is predominately client facing and involves tender writing and coordinating teams to come up with technical answers.

I have been with the company almost five years and in this hybrid role eight months (since January 2022).

The best thing about working at Vistry is the people. I really enjoy showing up to work for a company where I genuinely feel valued. Every day I manage to laugh, and this is really important for me as we spend so much time at work.

I joined the company as a Business Development Coordinator almost five years ago and was placed on the graduate programme at the time. This really helped me develop within my career and I learnt lots of transferrable skills. I progressed within the Partnerships South West Business Unit before being given a change to move into Vistry Services in a hybrid role to work within the Sustainability team (which is what I undertook my higher education in). Vistry have given me exceptional opportunities to learn and grow my career, including paying for my RICS Charterships process and lots of additional training courses, such as the UKGBC Future Leaders course.

My proudest achievement so far was delivering a personal leadership speech as part of the UKGBC course this year.

I chose to work for Vistry and I sought the security that comes from working for a large corporate organisation.
