What do you get up to in your role?
I head up the sales and marketing department for the Cotswolds region. I am involved right from the beginning when we are looking at land opportunities. I will consider if the site is in an area we think would be saleable and suggest pricing. We mark out a sales area prior to planning to ensure we are in the most visible spot and have show homes that represent the mix on offer. We brief in and produce the sales brochures. We then brief in and implement signage, sales office and interior design for the show homes and sales area. We then market and launch the development. We set targets for the teams to sell houses at the best price possible, sell choices and achieve 5* customer satisfaction. I ensure the team follow our great customer journey to give us the best possible chance of delivering a 5* service. We come up with marketing strategies and campaigns to enable us to hit sales targets and brand awareness. We work closely with solicitors and IFA’s to get the reservations to a timely exchange and completion date.

How long have you been with Vistry Group / in your current role?
I started working for Bovis homes in March 2016. I’ve been in my current role since January 2022.

What’s the best thing about working here?
The people – I feel so lucky to work alongside such a great bunch of hardworking people. All colleagues right up to CEO are approachable and encouraging. I strongly believe in our company values and have enjoyed witnessing and being part of the vast improvements made since joining Bovis homes in 2016. It is a great feeling to be proud of where you work and passionate about what we do.

Tell us about your development so far and how you’re progressing.
Since joining I have been Area Sales Manager for four years and five months, Group Sales Manager (change project secondment) for one year, then Area Sales Director for seven months. I was then seconded to Regional Sales and Marketing Director at the start of this year which has now been made permanent.

What’s been your biggest achievement / proudest moment so far?
Becoming a Director at 35. I have worked in the industry for 15 years since I was 20 years old and have always had ambitions to become a Sales Director.

Why do you choose to work for Vistry?
The people and the culture. We all work very hard to hit targets and deliver the KPI’s set for us, and I genuinely feel that we are rewarded and recognised for that. I have been able to realise my ambitions alongside having my son in 2018 and will be forever grateful for the support I have been offered over the years.
