Our career development focuses on opportunities and plans so everyone who works at Vistry Group can realise their goals and aspirations with the help of their managers. Join us and you’ll get access to a wide range of learning solutions and courses that actively support your own learning and development needs, from facilitator led workshops and webinars to online e-learning courses hosted on our Learning Management System, Vistry Learn. So whether you work at home, in the office or on-site, you’ll find the development you need to suit you. Apprenticeships and professional qualifications are also on offer so that everyone has the chance to be upskilled and continue learning, regardless of their age or position in the business.

Working with the Government Apprenticeship Service and apprenticeship providers across the country, we make sure that learning and support is available for new entrants to our sector, whether they are school leavers or graduates, exiting the Armed Forces or changing their career. We encourage trainees to complete apprenticeships or professional qualifications, and possible subjects to study include Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Accounting, Trade apprenticeships and Site Supervision. We also have apprenticeships in Sales, Business Admin and Finance. We’re proud to say that our trainees work across the business in Site Management, Commercial, Technical, Sales, Quantity Surveying, Construction, and Accountancy.

Future and senior leaders gain the insight and skills they need to thrive and be successful. We want our managers and leaders to develop the key skills, values and behaviours required to perform effectively in their role, so we have a bespoke leadership framework called Leading Better Together. We spot potential leaders and support existing leaders to fulfil their potential through the delivery of bespoke leadership programmes that look to build and enhance leadership capability and capacity that supports the development of inspirational, engaging and inclusive leaders across our business. Our Senior Leaders programme is delivered in partnership with Cranfield University and launched in November 2021, our Foundation for Leaders and Building Leaders programmes, aimed at our middle, frontline and new managers with potential for senior roles, launched in May 2022.

Our people are our greatest asset. Without them, we can’t make Vistry, which is why we invest in mental health first aid training and mentorship schemes. We have trained more than 100 mental health first aiders and continue to spread awareness with training across the business. Our mentoring and reverse mentoring schemes are all about creating and maintaining a coaching culture, so you’ll have the opportunity to adjust your mindset to grow, build trust, increase wellbeing, and build resilience.
